The root of beauty

We’re all for natural beauty – but that doesn’t mean you can’t get a little additional help from mother nature; here we showcase top to toe green beauty; essential green products and tips you’ll thank us for.

AVOCADO HAIR TREATMENT

Avocado is one of the top beauty secrets around the globe. This magical fruit does wonders for your face and hair. For a fabulous hair treatment follow this simple recipe: Grab an avocado, a banana, and a tablespoon of olive oil. Mash them all together in a bowl until the lumps are gone to make a paste. Rub the conditioning paste into the roots of your hair. Work it down from the roots to the tips. Read your favorite magazine for half an hour; then get in the shower and shampoo, condition and rinse as usual. The results will dazzle you!

CAMELLIA OIL FOR STRETCH MARKS

We’re all about loving our bodies; stretch marks, wrinkles and all. But there’s no shame in softening some of those pesky body lines. Here’s a way you can tackle stretch marks and it’s never too early to start. Rub camellia oil onto affected areas every morning and evening. Over time, this reduces the appearance of stretch marks as well as other types of skin discoloration, like sun damage.

COCONUT OIL CONDITIONER

Who doesn’t lust for super soft, hydrated hair? This is yet another beauty area for coconut oil to shine. Use melted coconut oil as a deep conditioning hair and scalp treatment. Massage the oil into your scalp and work it through your hair to the tips. Leave it on for a couple of hours and wash it out using your favorite shampoo. Your hair will feel baby-soft and silky to the touch.

GREEN TEA YOUTH ENHANCER

Green tea has anti-aging and antioxidant benefits that can help delay signs of skin aging, such as sagging skin, sun damage, age spots, fine lines and wrinkles. The polyphenols in green tea help neutralize harmful free radicals, which can cause significant damage to the skin and accelerate the aging process. Try this simple recipe for a glowing complexion: Mix 3 tablespoons of plain yogurt, 1 tablespoon of ground green tea leaves and a little turmeric powder. Apply this mix to your face and neck. Allow it to sit for 20 minutes before rinsing off with lukewarm water. Use this face mask once or twice a week for best results.
